“I believe that this is an issue that is purely consular in nature and this has something to do rin with our efforts to make sure that the rights and welfare of travelers going to the Philippines are also protected by making sure that legitimate travelers are the ones that obtain their visas while still here at the post,” saad ni Talisayon.

As a Consul General in the Philippine Embassy based in Beijing, China, I'd like to ask your opinion on this.
00:09.8
Pinag-aaralan po ng Foreign Affairs Department ang pag-i-implement po ng mas mahigpit na regulasyon for issuance of tourist visa sa ating mga Chinese nationals.
00:22.9
Dahil ito sa mga insidente na allegedly pamimeke ng mga visas associated with the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators o yung POGOS.
00:36.2
Reportedly, the department may soon mandate the submission of a social insurance ID or certification issued by the Chinese government na ginagawa na ng mga ibang embahada sa China.
00:49.5
How do you think may these potential changes in...
00:52.9
visa regulations affect our relationship with China?
01:00.3
Maraming salamat po, Your Honor.
01:02.4
Visa regulations naman po in general are within the prerogatives of a sovereign state.
01:08.1
And as far as requirements are concerned, yung pong pagkuhan ng kopya ng social security insurance po dito sa Beijing, madali po siyang kunin.
01:17.5
It's something that is available online.
01:20.4
And it is something that we can also verify.
01:22.9
So in this case po, mas mapapadali pa ang assessment ng visa.
01:28.2
01:38.2
I believe naman that this is an issue that is purely consular in nature.
01:45.1
And this has something to do rin with our efforts to make sure that the rights and welfare of...
01:52.9
of travelers going to the Philippines are also protected by making sure that legitimate travelers are the ones that obtain their visas while still here at POSPO, Your Honor.
02:07.3
Thank you very much, Mr. Chair. That would be all.
02:11.1
Thank you, Congresswoman Lani.
02:15.6
Yes, Mr. Talisayon.
02:18.9
02:22.9
Mga Pilipino na na-harass na mga Chinese?
02:28.7
Siguro in relation to our present dispute in the West Philippine Sea, mayroon bang harassment nangyari dyan o wala?
02:40.9
02:46.1
But of course, officially, dito po sa Philippine Embassy, we would also...
02:52.9
sometimes get hate emails po from anding Chinese citizens.
02:58.3
But for the Filipino community po, so far wala namang kaming naririnig na balita.
03:03.2
Thank you very much.
03:04.4
03:09.7
Just in case, aabot sa sokdulan nitong problema natin with China, pakitingin-tingin yung ating mga kamabayan dyan.
03:17.8
03:22.9
sakitan at yan ay hindi natin pinagdasal. Sana safe silang lahat dyan.
03:28.9
At ang lamang lang siguro natin dyan is that yung karamihan ng mga Pilipino na andyan ngayon sa China,
03:35.7
03:45.0
But anyway, please continue monitoring. Ayon lang naman po ang concern natin,
03:50.0
03:52.9
Thank you, Mr. Chen.
03:54.1
Thank you, Sen. Bato.
03:56.8
How are you being treated there by the Chinese officials?
04:03.4
04:14.3
And all of my engagements naman po are... they all have been professional and cordial, Your Honor.
04:20.5
So hindi ka naman ginugulo dyan? Di naman kayo ginugulo dyan?
